My MURS Basestation and/or Handheld Receiver are playing static instead of the voice alert. What causes this?
The MURS Systems store the audible voice alert on the transmitter boards located inside the driveway SENSORS transmitter box. If every time the sensor is activated the receiver sounds static instead of the voice alert it is the sign of a weak wireless signal arriving at the receiver. The two most common causes of this are either range (this can be strictly distance or an obstruction in between the transmitter and receiver) or low batteries in the transmitter. Try fresh batteries, and test the battery pack with a volt meter making sure you have 9 Volts. Failing that try moving the transmitter box closer to the receiver and see if you can get a clear voice alert.
