Please view the below diagram to see how to wire a siren to a (normally open) relay or a driveway alarm that has a DRY CONTACT (no voltage) output. This uses a plug-in power supply of the correct voltage, sufficient to power the siren.
If you are using the voltage output of a driveway alarm make sure the voltage of the alarm matches the required voltage for your accessory (often 12vdc) and that the “current draw” of the siren doesn’t exceed the limits of the driveway alarm receiver. Typically this is around 500mA.
Simply connect the positive and negative leads from your siren or strobe to the positive and negative terminals on your driveway alarm system.
