A common mistake users and owners of the Dakota Alert Driveway Alarms make is to attempt to change the chime sound of the system at the chime. While this seems to make sense, in reality the chime tone is selected at your sensor (either the magnetic probe, infra red or rubber hose) unit. The box of 10 switches located in the transmitter unit is where this is done. Switches #1-8 are used to match the sensor to the chime receiver (which only has 8 switches inside it) and switches #9 and 10 are used to select the chime tones.
